National Sikkimese Bhutia Organisation has welcomed the wise decision and recommendation of High power State level Committee on the proposed power projects over the sacred Rathongchu in West Sikkim.

The recommendation focuses on the certification of scrapping of all the proposed projects. NSBO has appreciated the decision as a reflection of government’s keenness in preserving the socio-religious interests of the Sikkimese people. However, they have also requested the Government of Sikkim to take strict note of the anti-social and anti human activities of concerned power developers in the affected areas.

The request has been made in the light of the State Governments’ High Power Committee recommendation calling for the scrapping of the projects in question. “Though NSBO has showed great faith in the establishment, we appeal that local youths and individuals must not be made scapegoat at the ill-motives of anti-human power developers in the affected area”, maintained Sonam Kaloen, President NSBO.
