Sahid Diwas was observed at Aritar-Khamdong, East Sikkim by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Gangtok which was hosted by a local NGOs Nava Jagrati Sangh in collaboration with Aritar-Khamdong Gram Panchayat Unit at Sangh Bhawan.
Chief guest of the day was NYK Gangtok district youth coordinator Puran Chettri and the programme was chaired by government contractor Chong Norbu Sherpa
In his welcome Sangh’s president Subash Dahal highlighted the social activities of Sangh which credit for the two prestigious awards to the Sangh namely the district level best club award and state level outstanding club award by NYK on 2011.
Sangh and Aritar-Khamdong gram panchayat felicitated the families of ex-panchayat Late Balram Ghimirey, ex-Area MLA Karna Bahadur Chamling, MLA Chujachen Puran Kumar Gurung (both were absent in the programme), journalist Bhanuraj Thapa, Ram Gauri Sangralaya president Ganesh Kumar Pradhan and members of Aritar-Khamdong gram panchayat unit.
Ganesh Kumar Pradhan, Chong Norbu Sherpa and Puran Chettri also addressed the day. Others guests present on the day were national youth awardee Mani Kumar Gurung, Himali Sangh general secretary Narapati Dawari, panchayat vice president DC Pradhan, secretary Nar Bahadur Chettri, RDA Madhu Sharma, ward panchayat Uma Neopany and the local publics.
The entire programme was hosted by Mohan Poudyal and ended with the vote of thanks from Binod Neopany.
