There it is! Finally the 100th 100 for Sachin Tendulkar. The 100th international century!!

He reached the benchmark in a One-Day International against Bangladesh in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, Friday.

Tendulkar brings up the landmark with a single on the leg side off Shakib, in the 44th over. The veteran took 138 balls to reach his century, having hit 10 fours and a six.

Tendulkar takes off his helmet as he gets a standing ovation from everyone in the stadium.

A deserved landmark for the genius from Mumbai. The Little Master has finally got the much awaited 100th hundred after making his fans wait for more than a year!

Sachin Tendulkar’s fans and all the lovers of cricket waited for it for so long for this rare milestone.  So has the time come for him to take retirement?

He had played 33 ODIs and Tests after scoring his 99th century more than a year ago, on March 12 against South Africa in Nagpur during the World Cup. However, today’s tie against Bangladesh presented a ‘great’ opportunity to set the record right.

Though this is an undervalued one for coming against a weak opposition, and Sachin will face flak for failing against stronger teams, but scoring big against weaker sides. Its a criticism that The Master has faced often.

Tendulkar out on 114

Tendulkar is caught behind for 114, as he looks to cut it fine. Tendulkar hit 12 fours and a six in his 147-ball knock enroute to completing his 100th international century.

But a failure would have been even more embarassing, with call for his exit getting a boost.

Indian PM Manmohan Singh finds some time from his busy schedule to congratulate Sachin Tendulkar. Clearly no one has been working for the last hour or so!

“I join the nation in congratulating Sachin Tendulkar on his making history a hundred centuries. He has made India proud. Tendulkar’s long career has been a triumph of class, character and courage. Wish him many more innings and feats to continue inspiring the youth.”

Tributes continue to pour in for Tendulkar on Twitter:

Interesting stat from Mohandas Menon on Twitter: Tendulkar: time taken from first to 100th intl century 7891 days (21 yrs 7 months and 8 days)!

As everybody celebrates Tendulkar, people seems to have forgotten Raina, who has kept the innings going from the other end.

ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat pays tribute to Sachin Tendulkar. Haroon Lorgat said: “Sachin is a true role model who will undoubtedly hold a special place in cricket’s history’
