Even as a forensic report gave a clean chit to the two BJP MLAs accused of watching porn in the Gujarat assembly a Congress leader in the state has alleged that the wrong iPad was sent for examination. The forensic examination of the iPad, conducted by the scientists at the FSL, has revealed that no pornographic site or obscene photographs were viewed by the MLAs.

The report was submitted to Gujarat assembly speaker Ganpat Vasava, who told the assembly that the MLAs were given a clean chit after the forensic examination of the iPad belonging to Shanker Chaudhary.

However, Gujarat leader of opposition Shaktisinh Gohil alleged that the iPad sent for forensic test was changed as it was sent a day after the incident. “The alleged incident occurred on Tuesday and the iPad was seized and send for forensic test on Tuesday only after media raised the issue,” he said.

Meanwhile, opposition party MLAs were on Friday suspended from the house after they continued shouting slogans in the house demanding the suspension of the two accused MLAs.

On Wednesday a journalist with a vernacular newspaper in Gujarat said he saw BJP MLAs Shankar Chaudhury and Jetha Bharwad allegedly watching obscene pictures of women on an iPad when the house was discussing budgetary demands of the revenue department on Tuesday.

The journalist claimed he saw the MLAs watching “pictures of Swami Vivekananda, then cartoons and then sleazy pictures of women” – from the media gallery of the assembly.

The MLAs has denied the charges and said it was a plot to malign their image.  Shankar Chaudhary said it is an attempt to malign his image.

“The allegations of me watching porn in assembly is baseless. This is an attempt to politically malign me. The assembly proceedings are recorded in CCTV. I request the Opposition to check the CCTV footage. All the allegations against me are baseless. I am not the person who watches porn at all.”

Jetha Bharwad also said that the allegations were baseless and wrong.

“I will resign if found guilty. Mediapersons are showing the correct thing. You should be truthful. We have not done anything wrong. We are very hurt. Opposition party is targeting us. We are ready to face an enquiry. We will resign if found guilty.”
