Anne: I am feeling awesome as it was my first try and I still manage to be in top three. It has definitely boosted my confidence level. I always wanted me associated with the beauty pageant. I am also satisfied because Zennyla stood first, if It would have been else, than I could have been unsatisfied as I always looked upon her.

  • isikkim.com- What makes you feel happy, Zennyla becoming a winner?

Anne: Actually Zennyla and I studied at same school (St Joseph’s). When she was in class 10, I was in class 6. She was always my senior and looked upon her. It wanted to be her or me to be Miss Sikkim.

Anne: I spent my childhood at boarding. First, I used to feel very lonely but later on I was so used to it that I feel bored when I was out of my hostel. Till class 10 I was studied at St. Josephs, Kalimpong and I joined Tashi Namgyal Academy from class 11. Now I am presently at class 12.

My dad is a retried additional director of animal husbandry department; my mom also works in land revenue department. I have my elder brother who is now in Delhi. My elder sister got married and she is now in Nepal. My family is kind of orthodox. We belong from a typical Bhutia family but my mom and dad are out looking. They are very strict in terms of marriages. My dad always wanted to see me as a good student. My elder brother was good in studies. But I am not that good in studies as my interest lies on glamour world.

  • isikkim.com- What is the perception of your parents pertaining to glamour world?

Anne: I don’t know about my dad but I am sure my mother understands me. My dad always questions about my marks and compares me with my brother who was very intelligent. But I guess both of them will support me in the future endeavors.

  • isikkim.com- Who is your role model

Anne: My mom is my real role model.  She is like friend in need for me. I always remember her saying that nothing in the world is impossible. I was also little bit frightened in the contest but she was always there with me tapping my back and saying ‘all is well’.  I had to stitch my dress for the finale and she was with me in the tailor’s shop whole day till late evening. I really wanted to be my mom.

  • isikkim.com- The worst day in your life

Anne: It was the moment when I left St. Joseph’s school and I missed my friends. I thought that now I am going to be lonely as I was alien in the new town (Gangtok). I was not that close with my family. For the first time I was going to co-education and the environment for me was not satisfying. I cried a hell that day.

  • isikkim.com- Your mantra for success and what it means to you?

Anne: Work very hard and be passionate about what you are doing. As someone has rightly said that failure is the pillar of success. Success for me is failure and criticisms, take it positively it will help a lot.

  • isikkim.com- Who is Anne is the real life

Anne: I am a glamour loving person. I like to do party sometimes. I am a strong girl and will not take things for granted. If someone hurts me, betrays me, criticizes me, I will prove and show them that how much I have. The fact is that everyone has flaws, but one need to accept it and built on that. I talk more. Usually I don’t open up at first but once I start talking, it’s very hard for me to stop. I don’t keep anything in my heart.
