The State weekly newspapers will be receiving more advertisements and high rates in the following days to come said Female Journalist Association president Radhika Pradhan today.

She said that keeping in the view of inflation, the amount as well as the grant of the advertisement had to be increased. The association had met the minister for information and public relation CB Karki recently; she said and added that the minister had given positive assurances of their demands.

Following the demands, the association today met the secretary for IPR. In the discussion the association presented a new demand chart to the department. The demand chart includes increase of the classified to 95 which is Rs 55 per column as of now, display advertisement to be increased to Rs 11000 from Rs 5500. The association has also demanded the rise in the quantity to 12 from 7 in a year. The secretary on the other hand has said that he will take the demands into consideration after a meeting on June, she said. The association has expressed happiness after a positive response both from the minister and the secretary IPR. (TS)
