Gangtok, 28 May, 2012:

Sikkim Teachers Association has plans to meet the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling concerning the transfer policy of the primary teachers. “We are hoping that the CM will give us justice” said Gobardhan Gurung, the president of the STA speaking to SIKKIM MAIL today.

Gurung further said that the association is totally against the transfer of the 146 teachers order by the HRDD. It is also heard that the STA are misguiding the teachers which is totally fake and we want to clarify it to the CM. The STA has hoped that the CM will solve all the problems concerning the transfer policy, he added.

He further said that regarding the transfer issue the members of association have already appealed Minister HRDD NK Pradhan and Secretary CS Rao but they are unable to solve the problem which has forced them to meet the CM. Being a government servant we have been appealing to the government and the department but somewhere negative rumors has been spread.

It may be recalled here that the Human Resource and Development Department had issued a transfer order few days back but on the other hand the teachers refusing the orders had met the concerned Minister and the Secretary.
