Sikkim: Governer, CM’s Dusherra greetings

Gangtok, 22 October 2012:

On the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja, the Governor of Sikkim Balmiki Prasad Singh and Chief Minister of Sikkim Pawan Chamling  along with Smt Tika Maya Chamling extended their warm greetings and best wishes for joyous celebration of the festival to the people of Sikkim.

The Governor said, “Durga Puja, also known as Dusherra is one of the most significant religious festivals in India. It celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over the evil demon Mahishasura; thus symbolizing victory of good over evil.

On this propitious occasion, may the blessings of the goddess bestow on the people of Sikkim: peace, prosperity, and divine protection. Let us all come together and strive to ensure that unity, peace and harmony always prevail in our society.”

Chief Minister has wished that the blessings of Goddess Durga be bestowed upon the people of Sikkim and the hopes and aspirations of every individual be fulfilled. The Chief Minister in his message has also wished that Dasain may bring joy, happiness, peace and prosperity to the people of Sikkim.
