Sikkim: AIDS awareness camp in Dalapchand Secondary School

Dalapchand (Sikkim), November 21, 2012:

An AIDS awareness camp was organised by Red Ribbon Club Dalapchand Secondary School on November 20 on its school premises. The purpose of the day was an awareness camp for the student’s parents. Around eighty-three parents along with Headmaster of the school and couple of his teaching staff attended the program.

TN Poudhyal, GT Arts of Dalapchand SS was the Resource Person of the day. Poudhyal briefed the gathered audiences about the history of HIV AIDS and its growing proportion in today’s world. He informed that we can just make people aware of this disease and help the human race.

Bipen Pradhan and Prerna Pradhan, Peer Educator of the RRC Dalapchand SS for boys and girls also spoke on the occasion. Both of them urged the parents to have a proper knowledge about the HIV and help people spread the message and make a better society for the coming generations.

Ajay Gurung, Principal of Vidhya Bharati School, Dalapchand said that we should donate blood for the needy ones. Donating Blood is good for our health but due to less knowledge we fear to donate it, added Gurung.  ST Bhutia, Headmaster, CD Rai, Senior Teacher of Dalapchand SS also spoked on the occasion.
