Two youths booked for consuming brown sugar in Sikkim

Gangtok, January 29, 2012:

Two youths were arrested recently by Jorethang police for allegedly consuming brown sugar, a substance banned by NDPS Act.

Police had received  information about Nitesh Tamang and Sabin Pradhan, both residents of Majigaon, possessing brown sugar. When they were searched, police recovered ten small plastic pouches containing suspected brown sugar. Items that could be used for consuming the drug were also recovered, sources said.

The substances have been forwarded by police for chemical analysis while the duo was booked under section 17 and 27 of NDPS Act.
