A wayside amenity for tourist located at Champa on Jorethang Melli State Highway was inaugurated on Jan 14 on the occasion of Maghey Sakranti.
Bhim Dhungel, minister of Tourism and Forest Environment & Wildlife Management inaugurated in the presence of Tilu Gurung, minister for Building and Housing Department and Tulshi D. Rai, Melli Constituency MLA and D.B. Pradhan, President of 23-Melli Dara Paiyong GPU.
The amenity (public toilet) for tourist was constructed by Forest Department (territorial) under the supervision of 23-Melli Dara Paiyong Paiyong GPU.
The amenity will be run and maintained by JICA, JFMC, IWMP and Department of Forest. There will be no fee in using this public toilet, the statement said.
The need for such amenity was felt due to the absence of facilities along the state highway and as a result the initiative was taken by the Department of Forest with the support of 23-Melli Dara Paiyong GPU.
It is hoped that this facility will obviously be helpful for the tourists on this state highway. Bhim Dhungel also assured all possible help from the department to run such facilities smoothly.
