Shillong Lajong FC will lock horns with Salgaocar FC in the Round 20 of the I-League at the Duler Stadium Goa, which promises to be an exciting encounter as both sides will settle for nothing less than a win to improve their standings in this year’s I-League.

The North Easterners hosted the Goans on October 12 last year and shared the spoils as the match ended in a 1-1 draw (Angel 52’ and Ebi Sukore 53’).

The morale of the team is certainly upbeat following their recent win against United Sikkim FC.

Coach Thangboi is very pleased with the team’s performance at the moment and feels that the boys are fit and will definitely put up a big fight on Feb 9.

Coach Thangboi Singto said, “Our captain Renedy Singh including Chitra and Govin Singh have not recovered and are still injured but Eugeneson Lyngdoh who was out in the last game due to suspension will feature in tomorrow’s game.”

“We will be looking to turn things around tomorrow and put up a good fight against Salgaocar.”

“As our away record against the Goan teams has not been good, we want to change it by performing well against against Salgaocar. Hopefully we play to our potential and we are going all out for 3 points.”

“As the team look good in all respects we can change things around this time”, he concluded.

The resilience of the boys will be tested in tomorrow’s game considering the fact that Salgaocar is just one place behind Lajong with 17 points, and is quite a team to reckon with.

A win is vital for Shillong Lajong as the team will be looking to secure a better position in the league and avoid staying near the danger zone.
