GANGTOK, February 11, 2013
The recently formed adhoc body of Sikkim Tamang Buddhist Association (STBA) at Namchi has come under a dispute and is strongly contested by STBA president MB Tamang.
A press release informs a central executive committee meeting of STBA was held under the leadership of its president MB Tamang on February 9. The meeting held that the recently formed STBA adhoc body at Namchi on February 3 was ‘totally unconstitutional’.
The release mentions that the STBA executive members ‘condemned’ the formation of the adhoc body by Sikkim Tamang Boudha Asanthust Manch. Whoever is not satisfied with the works of STBA, they can place their grievances and questions during the central executive committee meeting to be held very soon in Gangtok, the release informs.
“STBA has its own constitution and any works will be executed as per the constitution. A small section of the people cannot change the STBA constitution and whatever was decided that day in Namchi is unconstitutional”, said the organization.
