Two boys, both aged 14, of Chuja ward under 38-Martam Nazitam GPU have reportedly gone missing since April 16.

Police, the parents of the missing children stated, are yet to trace them even as FIR has been filed at Singtam Police Station a day after the duo went missing from their home.

Speaking with SIKKIM EXPRESS on April 30, Panchayat secretary Martam Nazitam GPU Manip Chettri said that Navin Gurung (14), son of Bishney Gurung and Pola Ram Gurung (14), son of Indra Bahadur Gurung of Chuja village are Class V and VI students of Martam Secondary School.

The missing duo, he said, have left behind a letter for their parents, which said that they have “decided to leave the house and go outside to earn money”.

The parents after receiving the letter left behind by their sons carried out search in their relatives’ houses but all effort has ended up in smoke, Chettri added.

This, he added is the first such incident that has taken place in the village.

The panchayat secretary has also appealed to the police department and also to the geneal public to put in best effort to help trace the missing children.
