Plantation drive begun in Sikkim Assembly premises

Gangtok, June 26, 2013

As a part of Parayavaran Mahotsav the officers and staffs of Sikkim Legislative Assembly Secretariat launched a plantation drive in and around the SLA premises, today.

The plantation drive was carried out under the guidance of Speaker SLA, K.T. Gyaltsen wherein he planted a sapling of rhododendron.

Approximately 200 saplings of cherry, rhododendron, rani chaap and azelia were planted with the assistance of Forest, Environment and Wildlife Management Department, Government of Sikkim.

The plantation drive was also participated by the Deputy Speaker SLA, M.B. Dahal, Menlom, Lepcha MLA, Secretary SLA, Rinchen Dorji, PCCF Wildlife, Thomas Chandy, Zilla and Panchayat members and local public from Syari constituency.
