Training of ASHA concludes at District Hospital Mangan

The 6th and 7th module training of Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) which started on 21st March 2011 concluded on 30th March 2011 here at District Hospital Mangan, North Sikkim.

ASHA is a secular organization dedicated to change India by focusing on basic education with the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic development of society. The valedictory function was attended by Up-Adhakshya North Ms. Pintso Doma Bhutia as the chief guest along with CMO (N) Dr. IL Sharma, DRCHO (N) Dr. DC Sharma, DMS Dr. PK Basnett, DPM (N) Mr. Bhim Kr. Sharma, DHEO (N) Mr. MB Sharma and three resources persons namely Mrs. P Lingzerpa (HEO), Noday Lachungpa (HE), Ongmu (NGO member).

The ASHA trainees during the program gave a brief report on the 10 day long residential training and demonstrated the practical know how like weighing the new born, measuring temperature and many more.

The CMO (N) in his address thanked all the ASHA trainees for their sincerity and dedication while undergoing the training and for their social services which they are providing.

The chief guest in his address informed all the ASHA participants about the honorarium of Rs.3000 per month and also appreciated the work of ASHA. The valedictory function concluded with the distribution of certificate to the ASHA participants.
