GJM Sikkim unit condemns the extortion incident in state and appeals police to take strong action against the culprits engaged.

Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, (GJM) Sikkim Unit has strongly condemned theincident of extortion carried out by some anti social elements and has also appealed Sikkim Police to take strong action against those engaged in such anti social activities in the state of Sikkim that too in the name of GJM or the chief Mr. Bimal Gurung.

In a press release GJM Sikkim unit has mentioned that accused Mr. Deepak Trikhatri was arrested by Sadar Police twice under the similar activity and adds that some anti social elements are trying to defame the name of GJM and the chief Mr. Bimal Gurung. GJM Sikkim unit is very serious about such type of activities being practiced in the state and are carrying out strong preventive measures in suppressing such activities. The executive members of GJM Sikkim Unit even met the Sadar Police regarding the incident the release states.

Furthermore the GJM Sikkim unit members appeal all the people of Sikkim not to pay any money if demanded rather to kindly inform their members or Police station. Adding further GJM Sikkim Unit even have appealed the citizens of sikkim not to pay money to any body under pressure and not without the permission of GJM and adds that if GJM finds out any such persons engaged in such activities in sikkim near future then strict action against them will be carried out
