The three days workshop on Project Planning and Management for the state government representatives concluded today. The training programme was conducted by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, New Delhi.
The main objective of this training programme was to develop the inner capabilities of the participants. Participants were given training on project management as a whole which included project planning, project financing and project monitoring along with capital budgeting.
Along with the project management training, an online computerized monitoring system training for the Central Ministries was also conducted and the objective was to streamline the process of reporting on project’s progress, provide direct access on project’s data to all stake holders, strengthen the project monitoring operations of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, generation of reports periodically and to get data through the web to answer questions.
The three day workshop was fourth of its kind organized in the state. “In the earlier workshops more than 100 representatives had participated, but this time the training was held on a short notice therefore the participants were less in number”, informed J.L. Narayan, Joint Advisor, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India. Mr. Narayan expressed hope that the participants will implement what they have learned during this workshop programme in the future projects.
