Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) Sikkim Unit will start Pad Yatra from 12th June across State and the programme is scheduled to begin from Gangtok.

During the programme the BJP members will reach every village in the state and camp in the poorest house hold to know the actual standard of living of the people of the state.

BJP Sikkim Unit held a press conference here at BJP party office at Tadong, Gangtok on 7th June. Addressing media President, Bharatiya Janta Party Sikkim Unit Mr. Padam Chettri informed that BJP Central committee meeting was held on 3rd till 5th of June at Lucknow during which the Pad Yatra programme along with various other proposal of the party were passed.

Mr. Chettri further informed that BJP party is serious about corruption issue which prevails nationwide and considering the same BJP Sikkim unit will also aware the people regarding corruption in Sikkim and try to make them understand the reason behind increase of poverty in state too.

During the meeting the central committee even passed a proposal of camping at the house of the poorest family in the village during the tour as well to find out the reason behind increase in poverty across the nation.

Mr. Chettri further mentioned that during the programme BJP Sikkim unit will even hold interaction with the people of Sikkim during which the central committee members will also part take. During the programme if BJP Sikkim unit finds out any complaints concerning corruption then they will inform the concerned District Collector (DC) and Secretary regarding the corruption issue and if the department concerned fails to provide satisfactory, necessary information or carry out investigation then the party as the second option will even lodge a FIR against the DC or the Secretary concerned as BJP states that the officers, bureaucrats are responsible in their respective jurisdiction added Mr. Chettri.

Corruption has become a national level issue across the country and BJP is seriously working on mitigating the soaring problem considering the development and upliftment of nation and the people as a whole. During the tour the BJP will also clear the doubts from the minds of the people of Sikkim between the facility and development as the people till date is confused between the government facilities and development being carried out. Party will also inspect the developmental activities carried out so far by the state government in the state and will also aware the general mass regarding their fundamental rights too.
