GANGTOK, February 16:

Both the kidneys of Chunkit Lepcha, 16-year-old girl from Rakdong village in East Sikkim have been malfunctioning and doctors have suggested immediate transplant. The young girl’s family have requested interested people to come forward for voluntary kidney donation. Furthermore, the SDF Cheli Morcha, who has been helping the family in finding a donor has even requested for the same.

According to them, the State Health Department in principle has agreed to sanction the amount for the purchase of the kidney as the family comes under the purview of Below Poverty Line.
