Melli Bazaar all set to get a new look

The up gradation and beautification work of Melli Bazaar has started since two months. The Government has sanctioned Rs.36 corers for the beautification, extension of roads, carpeting, under ground electrification and supply of water of the areas inclusive of various allied developments.

The work for the beautification would be in phase wise and initially in the first phase the fitting of tiles in the market has begun where three cooperative societies of melli has been working upon. Similarly Rs. 5 corers have been sanctioned by the Government for extension and carpeting of road joining the Bazaar stretch from SNT dara to PHC.

Similarly an agriculture cold storage amounting Rs.95 lacs has been approved and the work is under way and a public information center is coming up inside the check post premises worth Rs.48 lacs which is inclusive of a water fountain as tourist attraction. Further more underground electrification would be initiated in the second phase for which Rs.4 corers has been granted along with water supply to those areas facing scarcity and the public ground would be extended.

In regards to the works initiated by the Government the local public at large have thanked the Chief Minister and the area MLA Ms. Tulshi Devi Rai. The local NGOs like The Shepherd and others have also extended their thankfulness to the Government for including Melli in the scheme of development.
