Samaj Sudhar Samiti, Rangpo which was formed just a week ago to initiate social activity in the area organized a mass cleanness drive at Rangpo bazaar the main entry point of Sikkim.

Area MLA and Minister Miss Niru Sewa also participated in the drive and encouraged the members and residents attended in the cleanness drive for organizing such type of social work again and again. The members and delegates from trade and business affairs cell Rangpo, Sikkim Bihari Jagran Manch, Lions Club of Rangpo Gateway of Sikkim, United Taxi Jeep Drivers Association Rangpo Branch, along with Rangpo Police, Fire Department, Sikkim Transport Department with several departmental officers ,staff ,members of several other NGOs participated in the drive.

Samiti president Mr. R K Sundas said that Rangpo gives the first impression of Sikkim and Sikkim status may be clearly seen through Rangpo. So initiatives started and this year’s first cleanness drive was started today. Giving special thanks to the participators from all sectors also decided to organize such type of drive on monthly basis.

Miss Niru Sewa Minister said that the day is a historical day and appreciated the initiatives started by the Samiti. She assured full support from her side in this type of social work. Miss Puspa Misra Councillor of Rangpo Nagar Panchayat cum Vice President who was also actively participating in the drive talking with this correspondent appealed that all the residents should participate more actively to make society better.
