Sikkim Educated Unemployed Association (SEUA) in a press release have stated that there are around three hundred to five hundred government employees falling under creamy layer who are serving various department under the state government.
The release further informs that during a meet held in the capital on 9th February under the chairmanship of Mr. TB Rai, President of SEUA where the members discussed about the increase of unemployment problem in the state, the association took the decision of carrying out various steps for mitigating the soaring unemployment problem. Furthermore it was also informed that the association gathered the information through the right to information (RTI) application and it has come across four hundred employees falling under creamy layer wrongfully occupying the post.
The association has demanded action against the officers who have provided the other backward class (OBC) certificate to these creamy layer employees without proper verification and have also requested the government to take necessary action against the District Collectors, Additional District Collectors, Sub Divisional Magistrates, and Block Development Officers along with other officers concerned.
