Sports Dept. praises Tarundeep

GANGTOK NOVEMBER 25TH
On behalf of Sports and Youth Affairs Department and the State Government, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Mr. H.K Karki has congratulated the real son of the State Archer Tarundeep Rai who has recently won a silver medal in the men’s individual archery held at the Asian Games being held in Guangzhou, China. This is for the first time in Indian history that an Indian archer has won an individual archery medal in Asian Games. Not only this, but it’s a great encouragement for the upcoming archers of the state who also want to become like Tarundeep, added Mr Karki. The Secretary added that people come and go but wonderful people like him create a long lasting impression in the minds of the people.
Right exposure is very important for any sportsman to succeed. He added that the State Government has been giving priority to all the sportsmen who genuinely want to pursue their sport and added that today the players of Sikkim Sports Academy are getting an opportunity to participate in different places of the country which is a matter of great pride for us. He said that Tarundeep is the pride of the State.
