Surya Roshni received National Award for energy conservation from Power Ministry, Govt. of India. The award has been given for manufacturing the most energy efficient tube light. The award was given by Power Minister Sushil Shinde at a function held in Delhi.

Jaiprakash Agarwal, CMD – Surya Roshni said “Conserving energy is a collective responsibility for a better tomorrow”. As a manufacturer Surya has understood its responsibility towards the same. Street Lighting, House Lighting, Office Lighting and various uses of Lighting presently being done in India consume 5 times more electricity than what is actually necessary. This could be substantially reduced by several measures particularly by usage of energy efficient lamps in a large way”.

As a first step, the Government of India had taken up Star Rating for Energy Efficient Lamps through Bureau of Energy Efficiency (B.E.E.). It is significant to mention that SURYA is the first Company in the Country to get Star Rating for its normal 4 Ft. Tube Light (T–12). SURYA has also received Energy Efficient and Higher Lumen Output as 5-Star Rating in its T–8 Tube light, which is highest Rating in the Country saving 85% energy.

SURYA dedicated itself to create all round awareness in all Towns and Taluks of India, educating people on the use of Energy Efficient Lamps, which save electricity bills of household consumers by about 80% to 85% & with a long life of about 15 years (15000 hrs) against only one year life of a GLS Bulb.

SURYA Energy Saving Campaign besides reducing electricity Bills, helps in reducing the Green House Emission level, bringing down Global Warming and reducing dependency on Oil and other forms of Energy (Oil & Coal), which are precious fuels.

SURYA is exporting its Fluorescent Tube Lights to about 40 countries in the world including America, Canada, South America and Europe. Its products are being sold in all malls and big markets of the advanced world. Surya products last longer, give higher lumen output and are produced in world’s best plants with best technology.

At present Surya Group’s turnover is Rs 2500 crore and a workforce of 10,000 people. Surya Group of companies has taken up lots of expansion plans. The company has projected a turnover of Rs 5000 crore in next two years.
