Padmashree Sanu Lama  demands written apology from Nepali Sahitya Parishad or he will return the Bhanu Purashkar that was awarded to him by the NSP for his contribution to Nepali literature in the year 1991.

Condemning the derogatory comments made by the new executive body of NSP on Lama by mentioning that the award was self nominated by him during his term as President of the Parishad, Mr Lama has written a letter to the executive members of the NSP demanding a written apology that too in front of the media.

Shree Lama further added that such comments are personally very hurting and uncalled for and are also very embarrassing in the society and clarified that during the time of his nomination for the Bhanu Purashkar he was admitted at AIIMS and had been informed by some other person regarding the selection. The entire selection was done by an independent committee in his absence.

He also mentioned that during his long term as the President (three term) of the NSP there had never been such controversies. He also stated that when the news of NSP being leased to National School of Drama was flashed many people had objected the decision of the executive body, then why did the body choose to lambast only Lama for it labeling false allegations against him. He also added that everybody knows the contribution he has made to Nepali literature and further stressed that running an organization like NSP is not an easy job. He asserted that if the NSP was under any financial crunch then they should have approached the State Government for help.
