Gangtok 23rd March:
Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) party has welcomed the decision of Prem Singh Tamang to quit in a press release. Mr. Tamang has submitted his resignation from the post of Chairmanship, Commerce and Industrial Board on 22nd March to the Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim, TT Dorjee.

SDF has mentioned in the release that Mr. Tamang should even resign from the post of MLA as he is unable to follow the discipline and principles of the party and the party hopes that Mr. Tamang will resign from the post of area MLA, Upper Burtuk constituency. The party strongly condemned the statement of Mr. Tamang in which he mentioned that there is no peace in Sikkim. It said that Sikkim is one of the most peaceful state in which is appreciated by all across the nation.

A minor incident that happened in Singling under Chakung-Soreng constituency on 18th March 2011, the SDF party has already showed its reaction against the incident but they are trying to defame the image of Sikkim, states the release. It said that the SDF Party does not believe in such type of activities and that they (Golay and his comrades) are trying to make fool of the people.

Mr Golay should resign from the post of MLA too since he is not able to do justice to the very people of Burtuk area who have elected him as the MLA.
It is well known to everyone that mr Golay got elected from Burtuk because of the SDF Umbrella.

    Mr. Bhutia.
I would like to bring to your notice that Mr. Golay’s original consituency wasn’t Burtuk. Chamling ahd earlier denied him a ticket from his original constituency and had on purpose given him a ticket for the Burtuk constituency with an intention to have him out of the cabinet, since Burtuk has always been a Sangram stronghold in the past. However, it is because the people of Burtuk found a good leader in him that he was elected inspite of the fact that Burtuk was never an SDF stronghold.
This shows that the people of Sikkim trust him. It’s time for a change in the political scenario in Sikkim and time to erode the corrupt practices of the ruling government so tht Sikkim always retains its peaceful identity and so that the people of Sikkim live in peace and harmony and progress.
