Sikkim gives farewell to the outgoing Chief Secretary

Gangtok, 1st August:

The State Government of Sikkim organized a function to bid farewell to the outgoing Chief Secretary N.D.Chingapa and to welcome the new Chief Secretary of the state Karma Gyatsho at a local hotel here in the capital on 31st July 2011. The function was also attended by the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling. At the outset the Chief Minister offered Khadas with warmth and affection to both of them.

Addressing the function the Chief Minister said that he had a very good working experience with Shri Chingapa. Terming Shri Chingapa as an able administrator, honest and hardworking person, the Chief Minister said that his relationship with Shri Chingapa was very comfortable and cordial and saw Shri Chingapa always committed towards the welfare of the people. Shri Chingapa has always cooperated and coordinated with the government in formulating and implementing the government programmes and policies, he added.

A person with sound moral character and a thorough gentleman, Shri Chingapa will always be remembered, the Chief Minister said. While expressing his greetings to Shri Chingapa and his family for happy and prosperous future life the Chief Minister hoped to get his further cooperation and contribution for the development of the state.

While congratulating the new Chief Secretary, the Chief Minister said that the government is fully assured and has full faith that the hopes and aspirations of the people are fulfilled under his administrative leadership.

N.D.Chingapa thanked the Chief Minister for giving an opportunity to serve the state as Chief Secretary for two times. He also thanked the Heads of Department and the entire administrative machinery of the state government of their cooperation during his tenure.

The new Chief Secretary Karma Gyatsho thanked the Chief Minister for giving the opportunity to serve the state and the people. He also assured his commitment to give his best output to fulfill the vision of the Chief Minister and carry out the challenges before the government in the interest of the state and its people. He further added that he was very much inspired by the recent village to village tour of the Chief Minister and the love and affection of the Chief Minister towards the people of the state.

Director General of Police, Jasbir Singh placed on record the degree of confidence Shri Chingapa posed in his working style. He further hoped for his guidance and advice in future.

Earlier R. Telang in his welcome address read out in brief the bio-data of the outgoing Chief Secretary, Shri N.D.Chingapa.

The function was well attended by Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and Heads of the Departments.
