Gangtok, August 31:

24 Ahoo Yangtam, Gram Panchayat member Basudev Adhikari has welcomed the decision of ‘Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) Party’ of expelling 17 party members including himself from SDF on 26th August 2011.

In a Press Release Adhikari said that he was also a founder member of SDF and has been sincerely working in favor of party and also gained lot of experience from the party but the Chief Minister who is also the president of SDF party failed to keep his word which he had assured in 1993 during the party formation.

Adhikari said they had supported ‘Janlokpal Bill’, had participated in the rally conducted on 24th August and had also opposed the Black Bill as the bill was not in favor of the Sikkimese people.

Furthermore Mr. Adhikari in the release states that the ‘Janlokpal Bill’ was also supported by the Member of Parliament P.D Rai and Member of Rajya Sabha OT Lepcha and has questioned that does it make them also anti party.

If the Black Bill was not against the people then why was it not passed in the Assembly; Mr. Adhikari questions. Chief Minister Pawan Chamling while introducing the bill had said that through public order bill Sikkim will be drug free state but there are many factories in state where different type of drugs are prepared? Why is the CM not trying to stop the production of banned medicine items in these factories operating in the state first, concludes the release.
