Most popular German football club FC Bayern Munich could come to play in India early next year, if all goes according to plan.
“If everything falls in place, then Bayern Munich may be seen in a friendly against the Indian national team in Delhi in January. They have expressed an interest to play in India,” All India Football Federation (AIFF) vice president Subrata Dutta told IANS.
AIFF sources said Bayern has given assurances that they would be sending their full-strength side, that includes the likes of Bastian Schwensteiger, Thomes Muller, Franck Ribery and Philipp Lahm.
Bayern Munich was founded in 1900. It is a membership-based club with 162,187 members. Other than football the club has other departments for chess, handball, basketball, gymnastics, bowling, table tennis and referees with more than 1100 active members. Thought football team of the club is the most popular one.
