Trilok Subba bags medals in Scottish Open Poomsae Taekwondo Championship

The State Chief Coach cum 6th Dan Black Belt of Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association (SATA), Trilok Subba bagged two gold and one bronze medals at the “3rd Scottish Open Poomsae Taekwondo Championship” in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Subba competed in the individual 1st Masters category, Paris Category and the 2nd team category held at Grange Mouth, Central Scotland. There were over 200 players from 20 different teams taking part in the championshi. The competition was organized by the Central Taekwondo Academy in Scotland under the banner of the United Taekwondo Association.

Subba achieved his first gold medal in team event with Master Yousuf Dildar from Great Britain team and Master Jorn Anderson who represented Denmark. The second gold came in the Paris category when Master Trilok Subba partnered the current Great Britain 1st Masters Female Champion and World number nine, Angie Bailey of Scotland, as, the duo performed the faultless performance to take the gold medal with ease.

In the individual category, Subba achieved a bronze medal, as he was beaten by the current UK Champion Master Yousuf Dildar and Master Glen Culber, International player from Northern Ireland by a narrow margin.

Subba was presented with a special trophy by the competition’s referee Director, Grandmaster Tong Wan Shin 9th Dan (the current and twice world champion) for being the best player in the masters divisions. Subba was a guest of Master David Bailey 7th Dan and Central Taekwondo Academy. Subba left Scotland for Sikkim on Wednesday.
