Training programme on Storage and Preservation of Food Grains

A two days training programme on “Storage and Preservation of Food Grains” jointly organized by Central Warehousing Corporation, Government of India and Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim, got under way here today, in the conference hall of SIRD Complex.

Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim Jemima Pradhan graced the inaugural secession as chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion Pradhan expressed her happiness to be a part of such programme, which she informed was being organized for the first time in the state.

She also urged the trainees to proactively take part in it and also put into practice the knowledge which they’ll be receiving during this training secession.

Pradhan also requested the trainees to keep their respective food go downs neat and clean, as well as see that the food grains are not wasted.

Resource persons from Central Warehousing Corporation New Delhi S.C Gupta and Tarun Kumar Dey gave assessment and documentation of technical records in go downs, procedure of quality compliant, procedure of receipt and issue of stocks and their accounting at go downs and quality assessment during receipt to the trainees during the inaugural secession.

    Good to hear CWC’s contribution in dissemination information of safekeeping and preservation of food grains. Both the resource persons from Central Warehousing Corporation New Delhi S.C Gupta and Tarun Kumar Dey are very knowledgeable and experienced in the field.
