Sikkim: 30 November wil be ‘no taxi day’ in Gangtok

Gangtok: November 29, 2011

The traffic of Gangtok will remain silent on 30th November as the Central Joint Action Committee (CJAC) of Driver Association, Gangtok will be engaged in the meeting at Gymnasium Hall, Paljor Stadium, where the presence of all the drivers is mandatory.

Speaking to Sikkim Mail, President of CJAC Chungchung Bhutia said that on the day will important issues will be discussed and has appealed to all the drivers’ for their participation. He mentioned that vehicles in the capital are increasing day by day and the education to the drivers is must. Similarly General Secretary Lakpa Sherpa said that Sikkim as a tourism state, the association must play an important part to support the department and the government of state. It is also our duty to promote tourism he added.

A meeting was held on November 28, 2011 at Deorali to discuss the above issue.
