The preparatory training camp for North Eastern Zonal Badminton Championship scheduled to be held during September-October 2012 in Sikkim is in full swing at Namchi Indoor Stadium, South Sikkim. The coaching camp is being organized by Badminton Association of Sikkim which began from 4th January 2012 and would span over period of one month.

Probable youths (Boys and Girls) from various districts have been short listed and are being given extensive training in phase manner.

The preparatory camp is being coached by Sameer Gurung (NIS) State Badminton Coach and ably supported by Diwakar Rai, Joint Secretary BAS. They would cater not only to enhance proper skills of the talented aspirants but also propagate their mindset in order to excel at higher level. Second phase preparation camp would be carried out in Gangtok at a later stage.

However, the Badminton Association of Sikkim won’t be able to hold Winter Coaching Camp in Gangtok; since minor renovation work is to be carried out in the Indoor Gymnasium Hall informed Kalyan Dewan, Publicity Secretary in a press release.
