T Ao Memorial Football Tournament: Arunachal won Assam 2-0

Arunachal Pradesh defeated Assam 2-0 in the third day of Dr. T. Ao Memorial Football Tournament 2013 which was played here in JN Stadium, Shillong on March 20.

Arunachal Pradesh dominated the proceedings and took the lead when Toko Polium found the back of the net in the 22nd minute to give his side the lead.

Assam pressed hard to find the much needed equalizer but unfortunately was not able to convert.

Arunachal Pradesh doubled the advantage when Toko Polium striked a powerful shot in the 72nd minute.

With this win, Arunachal showed how well they have improved in spite of being the underdogs of the tournament when they got the better of one of the power house of football in the Northeast, Assam by 2 goals to nil  and have also kept their hopes alive of qualifying to the next stage.
