The concluding day of the Paryawaran Mahotsav 2013 saw massive plantation drive along with cleanliness drive across the state on June 30.

It may be mentioned here that Sikkim government has notified the fortnight from 15th to 30th June as Paryawaran Mahotsav.

The 15-day long Mahotsav saw various events on environment protection and preservation throughout the state.

The Department of Forest, Environment WL Management and the Gangtok Municipal Corporation had organised plantation drive along with cleanliness in and around Gangtok area on the concluding day of the Paryawaran Mahotsav.

The Minister of Forest along with the Mayor Gangtok Municipal Corporation toured around with the officials from Forest Department and the GMC to take the over view of the activities going on during the concluding day of Paryawaran Mahotsav in and around Gangtok.

The Minister started his tour by planting a sapling of Rododendrum at the complex of Ganesh Tok, here in the state capital.

The Minister during the tour appreciated the works done by various individuals and organizations throughout the state and thanked the people of the state in working hand in hand with the government for making the Paryawaran Mahotsav throughout the state a grand success.
