About 40 teachers from different schools and colleges from Sikkim participated in the inaugural session and will undergo this training which is organized under Rajiv Gandhi National institute of Youth Development, (RGNIYD) Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS) Kolkata and Department of ports and outh Affairs,Government of Sikkim.
The training programme has the resource persons like, NSS head, Kolkata, Mr. PK Patnaik, RGNIYD, Faculty Head, Mr. SK Shekhar and other officials. The training mainly will cover two main topics and those are Social Harmony and Human Rights.Secretary while delivering his speech appealed to all the participants to seriously undergo this training as it would help in solving different problems persisting currently in our society.
All the trainees must make best use of this training and should be able to impart this in their respective schools and colleges, added the Secretary. Through this training one can even control the burning problem of drug and AIDS which has become a major problem in our society today, informed the Secretary.
Whereas Mr. PK Patnaik in his address informed that the training aims to generate awareness among the people regarding human rights along with to understand the social issues existing. Adding more Mr. Patnaik also mentioned that all the states and union territories in India have NSS cell which works for personality development and education considering the empowerment of mass through communicative services.
