Daring Lingey School celebrates Silver Jubilee

Daring Lingey Primary School celebrated its Silver Jubilee on 1st December, 2010. On the occasion Minister for Tourism, Bhim Dhungel was present as the chief guest. Area MLA Bek Bahadur Rai and former MLA Kungazangpo Bhutia were present as the guests of honour.

While addressing the gathering Minister Bhim Dhungel said that the Residential Certificate (RC) will help control influx in the State, adding that it will help the Government to plan and execute its welfare programmes in a proper manner. Tourism is becoming second largest industry in the world as it is providing livelihood to many people around the world. He urged the people present to enter this industry and become self reliant. Bek Bahadur Rai said in his address that some anti social elements are trying to mislead the people regarding some of the policies of the Government but these elements will never be able to succeed in their ploy. He said that documents provide right to the people and it helps in their identification. Similarly, RC will help the Government to identify the genuine settlers of Sikkim and will check influx. RCs will be issued only after due investigation are completed added Mr. Rai. The school took this opportunity to felicitate the people who had donated land. A book was also released on the occasion.
