Love is in the air!!

Love is in the air and love is to rock is the most happing statement one lover can say during the month of February as this month celebrates the lover’s day “Valentine day” whereas this month is also known as the month of romance too. “Valentine’s Day” is an annual commemoration held on February 14 celebrating love and affection between intimate companions.

Valentine day was established by Pope Gelasius I in 500 AD. It is a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards. Today is a day to express the love, and to celebrate the spirit of love as well.

On the top, Cupid is the most famous of Valentine symbols and everybody knows that boy armed with bow and arrows, and piercing hearts. Cupid is known as mischievous, winged child armed with bow and arrows. The arrows signify desires and emotions of love, and Cupid aims those arrows at Gods and Humans, causing them to fall deeply in love. Cupid has always played a role in the celebrations of love and lovers.

Every year, the 14th day of February millions across the world are busy presenting their loved ones with candy, flower, chocolates and other lovely boons. In many countries, restaurants and eateries are seen to be filled with couples who are eager to celebrate their relationship and the joy of their togetherness through delicious cuisines. There hardly seems to be a young man or woman who is not keen to make the most of the day.

Today, the people are busy shopping e-cards, gifts; red roses during the busy hour for their valentine seemed pretty crazy. Whereas Ms. Doma Choeki Sherpa, Arithang, who selling the flowers at Hospital Dara since 4 years, said that , “It gives me pleasure and warmth when I go for selling the flowers, and I am much satisfied and happy with my daily work”.

Offering or gifting flowers to someone really brings smile into their life or face, and can change the meaning of the life. As, valentine day is a day of expressing the love and spirit to the beloved I must say, that i am quite happy and excited when this day comes across as this is the day when red roses are bought by the people at large to express their feeling to their partners or beloved whereas we get profit. Ms. Sherpa added that basically, my flowers come from Pakyong, Lamaten and today; I am gaining much profit compared to other days.

Further she also pointed out that “I do believe that, the people could really feel the flowers, real aroma and shower the happiness upon their valentine’s.
