BAC Mangan conducts review meet on rural housing mission

The Block Administration Centre, Mangan organized a review meeting on Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission (CMRHM) for Lachen-Mangan and Dzongu constituencies at BAC, Mangan.

The programme was chaired by the Area MLA cum Chairman CMRHM, Mr. TW Lepcha coordinated by the BDO Mangan, ST Tamang, ACF, BAC Mangan, SK Suba, BAC staff, Zilla members and Panchayats of the different wards. During the meeting, BDO Mangan informed that the Chief Minister’s mission is to make Sikkim “Slum Free State” upto the year 2015 and said that the construction of Pukka house must have a total area of 600 sq.ft (20x30ft) where the construction of house has to be carried out by the beneficiaries themselves. BDO further informed that, in the first phase, the beneficiaries will be given of Rs. 50,000 as initial amount to start the work and in its second phase with Rs. 75,000 with 54 numbers of GCI sheets, and in the 3rd phase with Rs. 90,000 and in the final installment Rs. 1,00,000 by the department, from which the amount of GCI sheets will be deducted.

He also added that, the construction time is of 6 months to 1 year but those beneficiaries who will complete the construction work within 6 months will be provided with of Rs. 10,000 as incentive for purchasing furniture. The total amount of per CMRHM is Rs. 3.50 Lakhs. Similarly, CMRHM Chairman cum MLA said that, the beneficiaries should construct their RCC house properly as the government will not be financing every time for BPL people and the amount should be utilized properly. He also informed that, from 2nd July, the government is organizing the capacity building training on Hotel Management, Tourist Guide, language etc. at Singhik tourist guest house.

MLA further appealed the people that the unemployed candidates holding Sikkim Subject from the entire State should submit their application for training as soon as possible and the candidates will also be provided incentives of Rs. 25, 00 per month during the training period.
