State Bank of India (SBI) being a nationalized bank is one of the most trusted and used bank in the state and has thousands of customers in all the districts. Everyday hundreds of transactions occur in the form of cheque or cash deposits, withdrawal, opening of new accounts, loans and many more.

But the link failure of the State Bank of India (SBI), Pakyong Branch has made the locals go frenzy about it. The link failure since four to five days has kept all the office works pending which further is causing much inconvenience to the people. There are no transactions taking place, the cheques and drafts are pending whereas the money withdrawal has become the foremost issue. All and all the complete functioning of the SBI branch at Pakyong is at halt.

“It has been a total waste of time and money for me,” complains Mr. Manoj Chettri who had been all the way to Pakyong SBI Branch in order to cash his cheque. One of the principal of near by school also informed that lot of the school work remains pending. Since there are no transactions taking place in the bank therefore the school is not being able to provide the salary to their staffs on time.

Like them there are many frustrated customers waiting for their banking work to get completed. Some even seem to be stopping over the branch daily in a hope that their work will be done but ends up with disappointment.

Since the link failure has become much of a concern and the locals have been complaining about it much lately. Even the Manager of the branch seems to be helpless.Should we understand that the bank’s administration is so incompetent that they cannot tackle with the issue as soon as possible or Pakyong SBI branch not being in the heart of the capital is being neglected.
