The general secretary of Muai-Thai Association of Sikkim (MTAS) Mr.R B Rai who is also the State leader has recently reached Aizawal (Mizoram) to attend special training on Muai Thai which started from 28th of July and will be held till 1st August 2011.
MTAS training program is being conducted by the grand master Mr. M H Abbid, who is the head Muai Thai of India (MTI).
Mr. Rai is the first person to represent Sikkim in this training program. Addressing the media Mr. Rai informed that the special techniques of Muai Thai (out of eight limbs) such as, punch, elbow shine, knee and many more will be taught during this training programme.
Mr. Rai said also said that he will organize many tournament in the state of Sikkim in favor of Muai Thai Sikkim after returning back from the training. He wants engage the budding young talents in this format of game and along with that aware them about drug addiction too.
Mr. Rai also stated that soon after the completion of the tournament the selected players will be given a chance to go ahead for inter-national level tournaments.
